DTS is an internal consultant scheduling system as well as a skill repository. It is currently being augmented to track the recruiting process. It eventually will also record actual hours worked for billing.
The database is small (10MB), but the reports are large and spreadsheet-like which is challenging interms of performance and presentation.
It is a critical system at RoseRyan and was previously implemented in Lotus Notes Domino and Tomcat with a Velocity front end.
Architecture description
Tomcat and MySQL running on an Ubuntu server. After some initial memory issues it has been rock solid.
